The Foundation gave £5,000 in May 2018 to enable this busy scout group in Earsham, a small village in South Norfolk, to create a new, wooden scout hut specifically designed around their needs.
The building opened in September 2019 and will be used by both the scout group and the wider community. This is the first new building the group has had since being founded in 1947 with the original headquarters having become completely unfit for purpose.
The new hut is home to four groups of Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers who meet every week. The headquarters are based in a fantastic riverside location with a large outdoor space which means it should be in great demand for camping trips by many other scout groups around the UK.
