The Foundation awarded £25,000 in June 2016 towards the creation of Centenary Lodge, a new affordable housing scheme for vulnerable and disabled veterans, in Aldershot.
The Lodge, which opened in June 2018, offers 34 purpose built homes for a mixed community of veterans of all different ages, their partners and their families. The range of new facilities include a training kitchen, an IT suite and a therapeutic garden with allotments which encourage residents to develop independent lives amongst a supportive community of fellow veterans. Stoll Housing runs four sites in London and Centenary Lodge is its first housing scheme outside of the capital.
The charity offers a home for life for those who are elderly, frail or severely disabled. For other veterans, Stoll aims to be a stepping stone to independent living in the community and to equip veterans with the skills needed to live as independently as possible.
